Menopause - A Personal Journey

These paintings document the effects perimenopause had on both my mind and body and how I struggled to make sense of all these, often conflicting, emotions.

Using self-portraits, I have tried to accurately capture the feelings I felt over a period of seven years before starting HRT.

I am hoping that through my paintings I can raise awareness and create a dialogue about the complexities of menopause and the different ways it can affect a woman’s life.

My Menopause portraits have met with lots of acclaim, being featured in Liz Earle’s Wellbeing magazine in 2023 and ‘Artists Responding To’ Magazine in 2024 as well as being a guest on various podcasts discussing my art work. My paintings were recognized by Dr Louise Newson for their ability to communicate the psychological effects of the Menopause and the artwork was used as a backdrop for her UK and Australian live theatre tours with the final event taking place at the iconic Sydney Opera House.
